Russell

B. Russell Sprout, also known as Russell, is the official clinic cat at Inver Grove Heights Animal Hospital. He and his sister Ellie arrived at the hospital in July 2002. Ellie was adopted by the Winsor household and Russell became a member of our hospital staff.

Russell's hobbies include sun worshipping, prying the lids off the dog treat jars for an unscheduled snack, and stuffing his body into the interiors of small spaces that would make the most talented contortionist cringe. Among his other talents, Russell has the ability to calculate exactly how much access a dog's leash will allow, how many seconds it takes for the swinging doors to close, and most importantly, he instinctually knows when a client is in need of a good leg rub or head-butt.

The biggest badge of honor Russell wears is that of blood donor. He is considered a hero by numerous pet owners whose cats would not be with us today had it not been for his donation. Okay, maybe he does deserve that unscheduled treat.
